Types Of Spelling in a Language

Spelling is a set of convention that control how you use graphemes to represent the language in the way it is written. In other words, the spelling is the rendering of the phonetic sound (phoneme) in writing (grapheme).

There are 4 types of spelling information:

1. Sound Information

The sound of Sound Waves creates a deeper awareness of the sounds of our language and its relationship to the combinations of the letters that represent the written sounds. They can separate words into individual sounds and letters, combine sounds to form words, use sounds, and see start and wake.

2. Visual Information

Sound waves encourage learners to look at words as a whole, as well as individual groups and letters of the alphabet. They learn to recognize spelling patterns and also identify deviations from standard patterns.

3. Morphemic Information

As students continued to explore words in our language, they began to acquire more and more common patterns and patterns. As they look at the meaning of words and how words are formed, they discover that words fit certain patterns and can deviate from these patterns.

4. Etymological Information

At Sound Waves students are also given the opportunity to explore the origin of words and history. Students explore the roots of words and the meanings of words and learn to recognize the relationships between words. They develop an understanding of how certain words are derived and how the meaning of unfamiliar words can be determined by examining parts of the word and other related words.

The study also identified four types of spelling errors, replacement errors, input errors, omissions and replacement errors.
