A root word is a word that does not have a prefix before the word or a suffix at the end of the word. The root word is the primary grammar unit of a word, and of a word family, which carries the most important feature of text. It cannot be reduced into smaller versions.
Can you identify root words, prefixes and suffixes?

- Look at the words in the list one by one.
- Identify the root word, the suffix and the prefix in the complete word.
- Write them correctly in the spaces of three columns given in front of the words.
