Space and Astronomy Vocabulary Words for Kids

Let us understand what is space?

Understanding of space is quite interesting as space, also known as outer space, is the closest vacuum between celestial bodies. This is where everything (all the planets, stars, galaxies, and other objects) is located.

Exploring space is very difficult because it is airless and so large that even the fastest ships can only explore a tiny part of it. It takes 3 days to travel to the Moon again, and depending on the speed it can take a long time to reach to the closest star Proxima Centauri.

The spacecraft are designed to keep air inside and protect the astronauts from extreme heat.

We get more information about the items in space from different kinds of advanced telescopes. Some of them are space telescopes, placed in the outer space to make them look better. Space probes also explore planets, comets, and other non-distant space objects.
