Water Transport Vehicles Name List

Water transport is the movement of people, animals, or things, from one place to another, via water. This transport is the cheapest, but also the slowest. Here are some vehicle names with their meanings.

  • Boat: A small watercraft used for travelling over the water. Can be propelled by an engine or even manually. For example, a motorboat, which is powered by a motor; a canoe, which is a small boat, propelled manually.
  • Yacht: A boat which is of medium size, used for the purposes of cruising or racing.
  • Ship: A boat which is very large in size, used for the purpose of transporting people or goods. Ships are of many types. For example, container ships, cruise ships, passenger ships, naval ships, battleships, etc.
  • Submarine: A ship that has been designed to operate while submerged in water for a long time. It has a periscope and can be used for war-purposes.
  • Sea Plane: An aircraft which doesn’t have wheels, but has floats instead. It flies but it lands and takes off from water.
  • Raft: Materials tied together, made flat and used as a boat.
  • Ferry: A boat mainly used for public transport, but for a short distance.
  • Coast Guard Ship: A military or naval force employed in guarding a coast or responsible for the safety, order, and operation of maritime traffic in neighboring waters

  • Tankers: Tank ship or tankship is a ship designed to transport or store liquids or gases in bulk

  • Tugboat: A small, powerful boat used for towing larger boats and ships, especially in harbor.

Air Transport Vehicles Name List

Air transport is the movement of people, animals, or things, from one place to another, via water. It is the fastest, but also the costliest. Here are some vehicle names with their meanings.

  • Airplane: A flying vehicle with wings, propelled by a jet engine. Highly used for transporting passengers and goods. Can be Jumbo Sized, Mid-Sized, or Light sized.
  • Helicopter: An aircraft propelled and elevated by horizontally rotating rotors located on the top of the aircraft. Moves in both directions.
