3. Working With The Predicate – The Part of Sentence:
In a sentence, a subject is always referred to as something which implies the main noun or pronoun. It is the adjective and the entire descriptive phrases which show a relationship with the subject. Now in the above sentence, “the girl in the pink dress” is subject whereas “is eating a burger” is a predicate of the sentence.
4. Working With Indirect Object
An English sentence may have had one than one element that might comprise of the subject, object, predicate and also indirect objects. These indirect objects can be adverbials which usually take a defined position in the sentence. If you are dealing with indirect objects then it will also contain prepositions along with it. - The professor was giving directions to the students.
- The professor gave them directions. In this sentence, the ‘to’ part of the sentence is missing.
5. Application Or Usage Of irregular Words Order In English:
If you see the general case of English sentence then you won’t be noticing any other word in between the subject and the verb ( predicate). There might be some exceptions that you might encounter while learning about the English language.
