Transition words are phrases or a group of words which are used to act as a connector between two ideas. English transition words are essential, since they not only connect ideas, but also can introduce a certain shift, contrast or opposition, emphasis or agreement, purpose, result or conclusion, etc. in the line of argument. They bring coherence to the text and give a proper structure. Transition words can either be used as a sentence starters or even to conclude sentences.

In conclusion | The movie was replete with shoddy acting, loose direction and cliché plots. In conclusion, the movie was made only with the intention of reaping profits. |
In summary | The landlord forced his poor inmate to leave the house. In summary, he was cruel man. |
Lastly | The young child used to practice day and night to get selected in the state level cricket tournament. Lastly, when he was selected his joy knew no bounds. |
So then | He had to leave for his office for some urgent work but his daughter insisted him to stay. So then, he decided to leave work to fulfill his daughter’s wishes. |
Subsequently | The result of the by-poll elections were unexpected. Thus, the market statistics changed immediately. |
Thus | The poor farmer was heavily indebted. Thus, he sought government’s help. |
Therefore | Samara was diagnosed with dengue. Therefore, she could not attend classes for a week. |
If all of the words mentioned above are used in a proper manner you’ll definitely get a good sentence ending.
