How Tracing Helps in Improving Motor Skill

Parents always feel that their kids are growing very quickly. A baby generally spends his time playing, crying, pooping, sleeping. But once they grow they become curious about everything they see and notice around them. You can see them reaching to get things, holding things, walking, kicking. These are some of the basic motor skills that a child develops while growing.

The motor skills help in developing and strengthening the body muscles.  It is the requirement of the small muscles such as fingers, hands, forearms. Writing and drawing are some activities to develop motor skills in kids. Now let’s see how tracing can help in improving motor skills:

1. Performing Tasks With Objects

Simple tracing activity gives the strength to muscles of hands with which the kid learns to reach the things, grasp them and sometimes move the objects. It provides the ability to control and manipulate the objects they are working with.

2. Learning Hot to Use Tools

Through tracing kids get the confidence in holding the crayons and pencil properly. They can cut the papers with the help of scissors. It helps kids learn how to use the basics tools and what they are used for.

3. Improving the hand-eye Co-ordination

Without proper hand-eye co-ordination you being an adult won’t be able to do simple tasks as sewing, driving, washing, hitting a ball. With tracing kids develop a co-ordination skill which helps them in daily activities.

4. Improving Handwriting and Drawing skills

This is considered an extremely important part of the school. Tracing letters can help in honing small muscles and then improving the handwriting. With proper co-ordination kids learn the proper hand movement.

5. Helps in Understanding the Work of Our Body Parts

Improving motor skills also helps kids to brush their teeth, eating on their own, washing hands and the movement of objects. For instance, with the use of scissors, they know exactly how to move the hand to cut the paper or sheet properly.
