Candy, also called confectionery, is a product of delicious food, the main component of which is sugar.
Candy refers to both chocolate products and sugar-based confections. Elsewhere, “chocolate confectionery” refers to chocolate, sugar confectionery in various sugar-based products, and flour confectionery in products such as cakes and pastries.
Old-fashioned confectioners, without sugar, used honey as a sweet ingredient and mixed it with various fruits, nuts, herbs, and spices.
