What are Limiting Adjectives?
Limiting adjectives are adjectives used to describe the kind, number or possession of noun or a pronoun. As the name indicates, these adjectives are used while defining or limiting a noun or pronoun. As a result, there are six kinds of limiting adjectives:
- Articles – a pen, the tree, an apple etc.
- Demonstrative adjectives – those stones, that haircut, those socks, that song, this town etc.
- Adjective of Numbers – one pig, sixteen years, three potatoes, one onion, fifteen years etc.
- Possessive adjectives for pronouns – its place, your idea, her gloves, our class, his television, their orthotics etc.
- Possessive adjectives for nouns – Pat’s shoe, Omar’s hat, Ram’s book, Julio’s cat, Monty’s wife etc.
- Indefinite adjectives – few voters, several bikers, any syrup, several mice, any pests etc.
